Facebook has introduced new tools to prevent harassment on Facebook and on Messenger. These new features for personal profiles give people additional ways to manage their experience on Facebook.
Facebook took a big step to Prevent Harassment:
Based on the various feedbacks received from the reported posts by the people who use Facebook, Today (19/12/2017), Facebook announced on its official blog that it is introducing new tools aimed at preventing harassment on Facebook and Messenger.
1. Usually, if you are blocked by someone for any reason or your friend request is rejected by anyone, you cannot create a new account and send a friend request again. Facebook will use a number of different signals including IP addresses to recognize new accounts from previously blocked individuals and prevent them from messaging or sending a friend request to the person who blocked them.
2. To avoid harassment or spamming in messages facebook has introduced a new option called “Ignore”. If you ignore someone’s message on Facebook, it will automatically move that message out of Facebook and it will block the sender.
3. Facebook has tightened their rules in Community Standards. If you report any post regarding bullying and harassment concerning or have a bad experience on Facebook which will be considered as violating Community standards. Facebook will review reports and take action on abuse, like removing content, disabling accounts, and limiting certain features like commenting for people who have violated our Community Standards.
4. People can control the contents displayed on Facebook by snoozing all posts from that person or by hiding that post.
These new features for personal profiles give people additional ways to manage their experience on Facebook. Remember, Facebook is a social platform intended to connect each other and not to spread hatred.
